She conquered the international runways by her mid-teens, now Gemma Ward has set her sights on Hollywood. In Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, her biggest movie yet, Ward shows her vocal talents by singing a sea shanty in a serenade to the Johnny Depp and his fellow pirates.
Playing Tamara, Queen of the Merimaids, Ward distracts the Pirates with her song before launching an attack on them. Of her role, Ward calls her role as a siren/mermaid who uses song and her sensuousness to lure the sailors and ultimately bring them to her depth. Shes kind of evil but alluring.
The song, My Jolly Sailor Bold, didnt make the cut for the movie soundtrack so we can’t be sure the vocals are done by Gemma, but we did find the scene on YouTube in English and Spanish. Watch them both below!
